Reading and writing have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Burying my nose in a book and traveling to a far away land, pretending to be someone else was my escapism throughout adolescence. When it came time to choose a career path for myself, it seemed only fitting to join the field of English and create content just like the kind I used to read growing up.

As I progressed through school, I loved every second of the assigned literature and critical thinking writing assignments, but I couldn't help but feel something was missing. There was a whole world of technology out there that was progressing, while my books, pens, and paper were forever staying the same. I took a chance one semester and took a graphic design class; it was completely out of my comfort zone at first, but ended up opening so many doors for me in the long run.

With this one class, I learned that technology and hard copy do not have to be enemies. Learning to create my own graphic images taught me how powerful it is to tell a story with colors and lines, instead of words. I got in touch with my inner rhetorician and realized how powerful one could become by combining their verbal and written abilities to communicate.

This led me to becoming a part of the Master's of Instructional Design and Technology Program, where I am able to utilize my craft as a writer and also hone my new abilities as a digital creator. Throughout this portfolio you will see various examples of my work from both of my programs. This will include traditional and nontraditional essays, digital art, presentations, videos, podcasts, and more.
