In my short 21 years of life, most people come to know me as an academic. Throughout my high school career, I took college courses to get a head start, I graduated with my BA early, and if everything goes well I will have my Master's before I'm 22. I have always loved to learn at a chaotic pace and would have it no other way. While I love school and learning new skills to add to my repertoire, I never want it to come off as if that is all I have to offer. I wanted to include a small section about the Bella that exists outside of academics because she is a huge part of me too.
I love to take on new experiences and as I get older I appreciate every travel opportunity as if it were my last. With such a busy schedule, it is hard to plan lengthy trips, but I have been trying to make it more of a priority. I'll thank myself one day! In the first picture above, you can see my most recent adventure. I found myself out West visiting the Hoover Damn (as pictured) and then the Grand Canyon later that day. It was such a humbling experience to marvel both manmade and nature-made wonders for an entire day. It was worth the exhausting 10 hour bus trip and every penny.
One way I find peace is by being in or near the water. I took up kayaking when I was 16 after spending a summer in South Carolina living with my aunt and her family in Charleston. I would take their kayaks out on the marsh everyday in order to clear my mind and give my body a break from people and technology. It was a hobby that I gladly took back to Pennsylvania with me once the summer was over. I have to admit the weather isn't quite as forgiving here as it is in South Carolina, but I love my days on the water all the same!
I have always been an animal lover. So, it is no surprise that I spend any ounce of free time I have with my little sidekick Nessie. She is a 9-year-old Yorkie that has stolen my heart from the moment I laid eyes on her. As you can see from the picture below, she is the boss in our relationship! Snuggles, walks, and fetch all happen when she says so and I would have it no other way.
